Most of the current slam scene is made up of former hardcore kids. They used to go to Donnybrook and Terror shows and dress "urban", and look up to massholes like FSU.
Once that crap died out, they latched onto slam/deathcore and all that other garbage. THey don't like the music, they just like spinkicks and headwalking.

Last saturday at a gig i had to fight with some retard that was fucking with me since i got to the bar because "i was a poser" for not looking like an edgy teen with a shitty vest, long hair and long boots. What's up with all those fags that think look is what matters? Lately (these last years) metal has been getting shittier and shittier with all those faggots thinking they're "true". Some of my friends are also like that, they're sometimes like "you're not true enough to listen to X band/sub-genre" with people trying to get into metal. I've been into metal since i was in high school, back in late 90's, and i'm telling you man, back in the day you could go to a fucking death metal band gig, looking however you wanted to, and if you wanted to go this friday to a metal show, and then go out and party on saturday, nobody cared about that, but lately it's like everyone believe that "true metal" and "true metalhead" bullshit. And you see all these kids at a fest or something, looking like the stereotypical metalhead, and they stare at anybody who looks like a normal person and is there to watch whoever is gonna play. What's up with everybody being such a fag these days? It's like they're always trying to show that they're metalheads. I don't even know if they're trying to convince other people or just trying to convince themselves that they're into this anymore lol
