A pretty monumental band regardless of music quality. Just look at the people they inspired. As far as talent goes John Lydons work in PiL shows he's got some.
Yeah they fucking sucked, especially compared to PiL, but I would take them in a heartbeat over the Ramones or some pop punk band.
People who say they weren't about music doesn't really understand what music is all about. Sex pistols were great and they were sincere, their sincerity was understanded by a lot of people. Yeah it was mclaren who make them do the things they did, but this came out as even a more outrageous message about how the sex pistol's story was a tragic one of control.
