I tried to make a dadrock friend listen to Sunbather because it was entry-level black metal (or at least accesible black metal) and he told me "where's the beauty of it, he just screams, everything sounds the same".
i eased into it with like, stoner and doom, which then led to sludge, then crust and a bunch of different kinds of hardcore including screamo, then grind/pv and death
