used to be a drug addict, has had to deal with a ton of dead friends, is a christian and also gay, so has dealt with that her whole life as well. she came out of it very happy and is a super inspiring figure to me but she had problems growing up. she talks about this in her songs as well

well would you like me to explain what i mean by " shes like everything i wish i was" because im referring to her person rather than her music necessarily (though sprained ankle did inspire me to put out some shitty slowcore songs).
I've been trying to look for more music like Elliott as well. There's nothing quite like him. I feel so connected to him whenever I listen to his music. It's awesome when an artist pulls you in like that.
Not many artists like elliott in my opinion. No one who really touches the scope that he's in.

Have you listened to Heatmiser? Elliott's old band, they're pretty good. Also, you might like Damien Rice. Doesn't hurt to check out Richard Dawson too, he's one of the finest folk artists from the decade imo.
