I've never really gotten into any subgenre of metal... what are some good entry level metal albums?
well, i've been listening to metal since i was 13. i'm 31 now. there are a shitload of subgenres. what kind of music are you into now? like give me your top 5 artists. or are you looking for something different? do you want some swords and sorcery shit or do you want some brutal cookie monster shit? do you want some technical shit?

Crack the Skye is easily the best Mastodon album, and I've known many non-metalheads who like it alot.

Holy Mountain is more accessible for metal noobs though
Don't buy into the memes, Tool are a great band.
Some people claim this album is metal. I disagree with them, but it's worth mentioning for the purposes of this thread.
