>I'm a good DJ but can't play an instrument for shit
How do I become a real musician?

LEARN TO PLAY AN INSTRUMENT

Practice, anon. I'm sure you'll be great! :)

You DJ, so I assume you have an actual turntable/mixer set up, or at least a controller.
Either way, learn some turntablism. Practice scratching, beat juggling, etc.
It's a dying art, sadly.

God turntablism is such a beautiful artform in itself

I can't decide if I want to buy CDJs or digital turntables. I'm an enthusiast at this point and only played three gigs. advice?
>>65749631
You have just a controller now?
What kind of music do you like to do/what style of DJing?
If you just mix songs primarily, CDJs will work just fine.
If you plan on doing some scratching and turntablism, the timecode records are the way to go. Scratching on those tiny jog wheels is a bitch.

focus on the texture of the sounds and then try to emulate them in a vst. u don't even have to know how to play a melody, u can just write down the midi notes
>>65749483
You're not a good DJ, fucking kill yourself you faggot.
>>65749704
i have a pioneer controller now. I like long prog house sets and hip hop scratching. Also I really want to learn how to scratch like a motherfucker

like this is my favorite set and I want to do shit like this

Noice.
Yeah man I would stick with what you've got and start saving/getting the stuff for a timecode set up.
In the meantime, practice on this stuff with what you have. It's not impossible to do this stuff with a controller, it's just trickier and frankly you don't look as respectable.

thanks man
Alright, say I want to learn guitar. Where would I start?
Just learn guitar, it's not hard and there are tons of resources for it

Don't. I can play guitar, but you've still probably got a better chance than I.
Praise kek and he may grant you the gifts you desire
