MAXWELLS SILVER HAMMER
>Nervous Young Inhumans
>>65724265
It is great, but it's the lesser song imo compared to the others.
>Handcuffs
Maybe not a 10/10 but jesus christ that song is jarringly horrible compared to the rest of the album.
>>65724040
What, Whammy?
As much as I love the Beatles I feel like nearly every Beatles album has one song you could axe that could make it even better.
Going rubber soul onwards my picks are
>rubber soul
Run for your life
>revolver
Yellow submarine
>Sgt pepper
Actually this one is fine as is
>MMT
Your mother should know
>the white album
Ob la di ob la da
>abbey road
The failed abortion known as Maxwells silver hammer
>let it be
For you blue
>>65724327
Just remove the "GALVANISTIC..." speech and I'd be fine with that track.
Fuckin' Will.
>>65724401
Yea exactly. I actually like the track but the monologue is shit and it wouldn't surprise me if he now feels its a bit indulgent at least.
>>65724390
Your Mother Should Know is actually good though, but the rest I agree with.
>>65724390
>worrst track on Rubber Soul
>not picking "Wait"
>worst track on MMT
>not picking "flying"
>Abbey Road
>not perfect
>Let It Be
>acting as if only one song ruins it
>>65724401
>>65724409
The thing is I even love what he's conveying in that monologue.
The idea that he had fallen in love with a person he made up in his head based off of the little he knew about them. That's incredibly relatable for a lot of people and pretty important within the narrative of the album.
Its just the way he decided to explore this idea was awful.

This one's obvious. Wouldn't be 10/10 but gettin' close

>The Past is a Grotesque Animal
Don't get me wrong, this is a great song. But it's completely out of place on this album.
>>65725036
Black Dice I can understand but Lil Boy is one of the best tracks

>>65724637
Tonight is awful, but I never really enjoy Taking Off, the second it hits the chorus I feel like it sucks all the energy out of the album, I think it would be a lot better right after the intro or later in the album
Also, God Given Tongue from the Japan bonus edition is 11/10

It drags far too long and sounds like something that Stereolab already did better. It's not terrible but every time I listen to it on the album I always feel like I'm impatiently waiting for it to end so the rest of the album can pick up again.

Yea I like the sound of the song fine. and I actually really like some of the lyrics. I like what the song is saying.
However some of the lines are so edgy and embarrassingly out of theme for the album that I can't really help but wonder if he wrote that song when he was quite a bit younger.
>>65724567
Polyethylene would be a fantastic closer in place of The Tourist, maybe as a hidden track. Palo Alto would work well in the place of Electioneering, as it still puts a harder rock song right before Climbing Up the Walls

This album needs its tracks rearranged to become better. Most people's main problem is how inconsistent the tracklist is. Thom created this one as a substitute:
1. There There
2. The Gloaming
3. Sail to the Moon
4. Sit Down. Stand Up
5. Go to Sleep
6. Where I End and You Begin
7. Scatterbrain (I'd personally put Backdrifts here)
8. 2+2=5
9. Myxomatosis
10. A Wolf at the Door
>>65726322
Yup.
>>65724401
Are you fucking serious Will's exposition was the highlight of that album holy
Static
>>65726309
I could have been a good track, but it dragged on too long.
>>65726326
Thom didn't make it, he found it online and said it was interesting. This may be unpopular, but I really like We Suck Young Blood, one of my favourites on the album.
>>65725093
Very pleb opinion you have there
Replace A Touch of Evil with a sound collage depicting a space battle between mankind and the robot menace layered on top of an orchestral crescendo signalling the approach of the Painkiller.
>road trippin

It was insanely pretentious and dull. The idea behind what he's saying is good but his monologue is awful.

I really mean it. I have no idea why it's hated so much (for a Radiohead song anyway). All I hear from people is "the live version is better", but, while it's still a good track, it's kinda smothered in its own instrumentation and ruins the tone of the original track IMO.
>>65727755
If it wasn't for the lyrics, Culture Shock would be my choice too
>>65727762
Kilink is awesome
>>65727731
Nah, Thru the Walls is the only bad DG song.
>>65727775
Well, I just don't like it because it's repetitive and depressive vibe bore me, and it kinda lacks originality. Not a good closer to the album, either.
>>65727858
>repetitive
>depressive
You mean like How To Disappear Completely? Do you consider that a good track? The National Anthem is repetitive, Street Spirit is depressive, are those bad tracks?

>>65727731
You're being ironic, it's the best track off the album and easily DGs most underrated song.
>>65727907
No actually none of those are bad songs to me, but perhaps I could've explained myself a little better. I guess you could say I just don't like "that" songs repetition.
>>65728141
I mean, I guess I kinda understand, but it's not like it's a long track or anything. Maybe it's just a personal thing for me because I get into the depressing vibes that it gives off, it's like an even eerier version of Pyramid Song and I feel it makes a perfect closer to the album.

>>65728501
Yeah the first minute or two is amazing, but then the rest of the band took a smoke/bathroom/lunch break so the drummer poked the cymbals a few times over the course of 9 minutes.
Across the Sea.
>Night Comes Down
Not a bad song by any means, but it kinda slows the album down a tad. Without it the album would be god-tier instead of just being amazing.
Either Magic Johnson or Sexy Mexican Maid for being pure filler.
