No. I met a guy in real life that followed Pitchfork a lot, but it was hard to develop any conversation because most of it would go "Say, have you heard of [x] band?", and then either saying we liked them or we had no idea. I can't hold conversations for shit.

Yeah, I've made countless friends on /mu/. I've been here for way too long, and I still keep up with a bunch of the guys I use to talk to on here years ago as well as the guys I still talk to. The emo threads, the weebteam, the old punk last.fm users, other trips, etc. All great dudes that I still love. I've also meet a few in real life, and they were all cool.

Yeah, some guys used to do them years ago. I don't think we've had a serious one in a really long time though. I mean it's not like they're hard to set up or anything; it's just finding a way to convince a ton of trips and anons to actually go somewhere.
Also as far as meet ups from other boards go, /jp/ use to always have the best comiket meet up pictures. I haven't been on there since /qa/ effectively destroyed it, but they use to always go out and drink after comiket and pose with the weird weeb shit they would buy. I don't know if they still do that anymore though.
