I don't think this will happen. People have been saying it will for centuries but every time they are proven dead wrong when a technological advancement happens that allows for new experiments in music.
I mean, I have no clue what the next progression will be, but I don't doubt that things can be taken further. What if scientists invent new forms of hearing, or we discover completely new sounds that haven't been explored musically yet? Who knows.
How long do we have left as a species, I worry about things like this
