Piano. If you actually take lessons, if forces you to learn music notation, basic theory, and you can't just cop out and play tabs.

Because of what >>65689156 said basically. I'm pretty much clueless on the most basic music theory and notation because I chose percussion and guitar. And it means that when composing I often have a lot of nice ideas that I just can't express because I don't know what chord am I thinking or where should I go next. Well, at least I'm good at percussion and moderately good at guitar.
I play both, by far piano. Guitar is great, its a close match, but piano feels so much better, so many more things can be played on it
Guitar without a doubt. My right hand's pinky fingertip is fucked up beyond repair. Learning music theory on guitar just feels more natural
