Hi. So I need some help!!!
So I listen to all types of music yadda yadda
Since about 2010 I've been pretty into hardcore.
Hardcore is great and everything, but I've kind of lost touch with my punk roots.
Long story short I'm looking for punk bands that are:

Harder than joyce manor or rancid (not poppy or too 90's).
Not too hard (not hardcore).
Have decent production quality (not grindcore esque. I want to be able to feel the beat so-to-say.).
Have recognizable (understandable) vocals (the opposite of bands like "Gag").

Thank you for your help /mu. I'm sure this will be a shit show...

Don't know how hard you like it but this is my personal favourite

check out dillinger four

Most punk bands these days fall into the hardcore category or the "hardly punk" category. There isn't much middle ground.

what did he mean by this?

Wow this has been very helpful! TSOL was sick, I've known of dillinger for a while and I checked 'em out and that's a pretty accurate interpretation of my post! I dig. I know Give already. Great shit. Thanks so far :)
>>
Another thing to take into consideration is I really dig older AFI. So darker punk like that is appreciated.

Just for a little background, I grew up with 3 brothers, and hip-hop was my bread and butter (Eminem, Tupac, Biggy, Snoop, Eazy E, 50 cent, off the top of my head). When I was 14 I took guitar lessons at school, and played along to mostly classic rock. I discovered the Beatles, Hendrix, Pink Floyd (though I only like the very short-lived syd-barrett era). Then I got into the Kinks, David Bowie and Queen. Suffice to say, my class rock obsession made me a bit of a anglo-phile for a while. At one point I kind of worshiped the Beatles. At 16 I really began to get a grasp on music theory, and I got into "classical" music. I sampled most of the big names, and fell in love with a handful (Listz, Chopin, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky). Then I really got into classical and spanish guitar, and I learned some basic pieces. After that, for a long while I avoided music, but I knew I found absolutely no merit in anything beyond the 80s.

ceremony has a couple albums sort of treading that area, Zoo being the most like what you're wanting. Rohnert Park is good too but probably more hardcore than what you want

call it what you may.

I honestly can't listen to much regular punk besides Dead Kennedys, Propagandhi, whatever Misfits falls under and Bad Religion's Suffer (it gets tiresome quick).
>>
Japan has a lot of good punk/post-hardcore bands. Language barrier aside (or maybe not if you obviously understand Japanese), they're still worth a listen.

Gorilla Biscuits is great! Don't get me wrong y'all, I love hardcore, I'm just trying to find bands that aren't for the time being. When I'm off work I'm going to listen to the stuff I haven't listened to on here yet. This is great, thanks again everyone.
