but muse is unaesthetic garbage for 14 year olds
He exclusively listens to a naked Ed O'Brien holding Lauren Mayberry, struggling to play the supporting drums to there there, while Tom, Johnny and Colin float majestically in the sky and phil looks on from a distance while resting on a dead whale.
>>65673579

Hello the radio

he's entry-level art and non-art (videogames) incarnate. just watch the trailer of his new toy to get a grasp of the kind of kitsch gamers are eating up in 2016
>>65677978
ironic since videogames and its subculture are basically the most fedora thing that exists
now fuck off back to your hole, /v/ermin

His favorite artists are Bowie and Joy Division/New Order

just play MGS1 and 2 with an open mind before you start having misinformed opinions on the internet
Videogames are far too commercialized to be art at this point.
Not that the medium isn't capable of being art or that examples don't exist but as it sits, it's mostly too tainted by money to be truly artistic.
The quality of existing auteurs in the medium is extremely poor.
Kojima, Cage and suda 51 plus a bunch of indie devs that no one cares about. It's all strictly worse than even the state of the modern American film.
The MGS series was amazing until 4, the new direction Kojima is going is also pretty lame
>>65678234
literally two of the worst picks ya could've come up with you sperg
games aren't art they're (mostly) mass produced consumerist garbage. The actual artistic games are small-time indie numbers made by one or two people (i.e Fez or those ones where u walk around in fields) and those games get routinely shrugged off by the general gaming audience. The fact that so many people still name shit like Undertale as the greatest or most significant or most influential indie game ever fuckin tells you how far games are from becoming a serious art. Film and literary critics have long recognized that people like Polanski or Hemingway, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers, were good because they could create stories that make you think about emotions with characters that aren't 1-dimensional blobs. Games critics are literally blinded by commercial success. Just because MGS1 & 2 sell the best today (not true, by the way), therefore they're examples of 'games as art'. Games consumers are totally ignorant of the games of the past, they barely know the best sellers. No wonder you think that the MGS series is worthy of being considered art.
You fucking pleb.
>>65678522
I appreciate the way MGS 1+2 play with player agency and expectations but I would mostly agree with this.
There are no substantially budgeted auteurs that are doing anything meaningful with the medium.

I thought it was great. Perfectly appropriate for the trailer, but I wouldn't listen to it in my spare time. Kojima creates incredible music videos for his games, best example being the Elegia trailer for MGSV. But the MGSV trailers in general honestly. Great music selection. Incidentally, though Kojima using Elegia I was introduced to this short film gem:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCeeTfsm8bk
which I highly recommend. It's just 6 minutes, and it's great.
Kojima's games always gave sound and music the respect they deserve, which and almost no other developer does.

nah, he likes radiohead
