>Songs women will never truly understand
Alice in Chains - Down In A Whole
So how come when a woman makes something and someone says a man can't understand it because its from the point of view from a woman its ok, but when you say a woman can't understand something from the point of view from a man it's sexist?

I mean, both are kind of gender essentialist and sexist. I do think there are songs/albums that one gender might be more likely to relate too though. Pinkerton is my go to example. I feel like a lot of men in their late teens/college age relate to those angsty feelings of wanting a girlfriend and being depressed. However, when women listen to it (at least my friends and I) we tend to just be reminded of creeps we went to school with who became obsessed with us.
