People listening to metal tend more to be the kind of people who like to provoke others by swimming the other direction. Satanism instead Christianity, Nazism instead Liberalism, living on a French farm instead of Capitalism.

Metal isn't about any of those things it's just sound, the artists have their own ideologies. OP's post is the same as relating punk to white nationalism because of RAC artists.

It was their way to rebel against their superficially perfect, politically correct nordic society. Their way of saying "things aren't as perfect as as you want me to believe they are".
I believe this applies to most metal scenes. The extreme imagery is used simply to rebel and shock.

It's pretty much view from people out of their time with no desire to learn about new things. They got used to "nice music" and metal is loud. Loud = bad, Bad = things you mentioned.
