2 piece necks in general have some issues. You only need a bit of angle to keep from buzzing, and less tension over the nut is better for bending to a certain degree. Most fenders don't come with stepped tubers, and so they rely on string trees. These have some issues but you can remove them if you happen to have heavier strings and use string wraps effectively. I know this is more than you wanted to know but it's interesting to me.

Man, zoom has released 4 stomp boxes and an amp for the g5n the last two months, and they say they're gonna add new stuff every month. If they add a bass amp it's an instant buy for me. I was kinda bummed about less parameters on the effects and the inability for the expression pedal to be assigned to different parameters on the pedals, and the fixed high-pass filters on the delays and reverbs, but if they keep adding shit it'll be worth it for the drives and amps alone.
I do like the tone anyway, god have mercy on my soul.

So I bought a used Epi Dot from Guitar Center that ended up needing a fret leveling. But, after a couple of weeks of playing with it, I decided that I didn't like the guitar enough to pay to have it fixed.
Long story short, I went back to GC and settled on CV Strat, but the salesmen (same guy who sold me the shitty Epi) sold me the floor model. And I was too embarrassed to ask if he had one in the box. I even panicked and bought the two-year insurance plan.
Problem is, this Strat has fret buzz too and is all crusty. And I still haven't returned my Dot since I wanted to do a side by side comparison at home on my amp. So now I feel like I overpayed for a basically used guitar.
What do I do guys?

Is it any good? I like Zoom. A bunch of my friends had them the late 90s. I had a 707II. Was pretty neat, i made some cool patches with it. Had a drum thing to practice with. The plastic just felt like a cheap toy tho. I spilled beer on it multiple times and it finally stopped working. Then i got a boss gt-6, and i really have no need for anything else multi-effect wise. I use different wah and have other pedals i find cheap at pawn shops and shit.

I started with his solo album, it's a good exemple of how far he goes.
The Aristocrats is great too, he plays with Bryan Beller and Marco Minnemann, which both were into way too many things to name them. The latter also played for Necrophagist, which I'll always find funny.
He also worked with Steven Wilson but I'm not too familiar with which albums he was in.

Well, I've only listened to demos, but I really like the tone, marshall particularly. The drives are definitely a step up from the previous models, definitely sound like you get the full range of drive instead of one setting mixed in with clean. That's not saying much compared to boss by any means, but for me it's pretty nice. It's kind of a dilemma between features and quality, the zoom is pretty limited, but I'm more of a minimalist than I like to admit with effects anyway...
Tonally pretty neck-in-neck with the gt-100, a lot less features though. I happened to prefer the zoom amps but they're quite close.

The gt-6 is complicated as all hell, and it always starts out as "I'm gonna tweak this a little" then i have scoliosis from bending over the guitar to the floor messing with knobs. Anons do you think I can meet the pic related goals for studies in Guitar within 3-4 years? I can currently play Bach's first cello suite but only read tab. Has anyone ever played some less common guitar-like instruments? I'm always interested in stringed instruments and what they sound like.
Last week I played a few weird ones my uncle had collected; he plays in a bluegrass band and had a mandolin/banjo hybrid that I really liked. Offered to buy it but he wouldn't do it.
Friend of mine has access to one of those Russian triangular instruments (forget what they're called), they sound pretty cool. I've asked him if I could try it out.

Anyone here own a jaguar? For whatever reason when I was restringing the first string on mine it sounds really buzzy. I figured out it's because it's touching the metal of the bridge, causing it to resonate, but no other strings are doing this.
Any explanation as to why, and what I should do?

Should be a counter? clockwise Truss turn, or whatever makes it less flat.
If its your High E that might be a bigger issue/ie slightly warped neck, if its the low E it should be fine after a truss adjustment.

You have a small allen wrench? You need a .5mm wrench to do this job
Notice how the string is resting on the screw? Well lift up the string with your fingers and move it one or two notches to the right so it's only making contact with the saddle.
Then use the .5mm wrench on the two screws raising the entire saddle until you have no buzzing. Normally that would throw off your radius but it doesn't look like the saddles are set to a particular radius anyways so you won't even notice.

Reposting from a few threads back for visibility. I started building my own pedals but I've been really short on time lately and I find myself investing too much time into that instead of practicing. Is there a good all in one pedalboard that I can buy so I don't have to fuck with pedals anymore, that's still a decent quality? I've narrowed it down to a G3x, g5N, POD HD500x, Tonelab Le or a Boss gt-100. I think the zooms have all that I need but they lack a midi and also can't be hooked into my effects loop, which I would like for longevity. Or should I just abandon that idea and stick with finding pedals on craigslist/eBay/building my own?

It's a lot more different than people usually think, you don't play the same things, you don't play the same way either (both because of string spacing and scale lenght), and you can't get around without knowing what you're doing.
That being said, you have a lot of free space to have fun, people don't expect you to do much so you can be much more present on the stage. And bassists are less common so you're more likely to get in a band.

Sorry, I went to sleep. What you need to do is take your allen wrench and unscrew each of the saddle adjustment screws one whole turn. Keep doing that until the string has clearance, though hopefully once is enough. It's important to move all the saddles equally. Once you've done this, your action might be too high. To lower it, screw in the two bridge post screws. Turn them each the same amount, a quarter turn at a time, until your action at the upper frets(12+) is comfortable.
This will solve the issue you have right now, but I'll warn you that with light strings a jaguar is difficult to set up right. If you still have buzz after following these steps, it's likely caused by the saddle lifting off from the bridge when the string vibrates. A way to test this is to see if pushing down on the saddle(not the string) while playing stops the buzz. If you get saddle buzz, there's a couple ways to deal with it. The easiest, and frankly the best, is to use heavier strings. Since the Jaguar has a short scale, light strings will not work well even if you get the bridge set up nicely because the strings will be so loose that the guitar is prone to buzzing. However if you prefer the light strings there are steps you can take.

i have one of those pedaltrain boards with 6 pedals on there and i have a voodoo power supply mounted under it. i wanted to get some cable tie mounts and zip tie the wires to hide them under neath it, but staples didn't have zip ties or cable tie mounts (how the fuck does staples not have zip ties?) so i had to go with velcro ties and just wrapped them around to hold the wires in place. it works but it's kind of unsightly

You'd still be using the power amp of the peavey. Be careful with this, but if you keep your volume below what usually comes through the peavey at max, you'll be okay. The fx return and various ports such as poweramp in may mean different things to different manufacturers. Read your manual to make sure you don't send something too hot to your amp.
