I mean, they're both influenced by synth pop, but I feel like Taylor takes more from the 2000s revival of synth pop, whereas CRJ sounds like her album was recorded in the 80s (which probably explains why I like 1989 but not Emotion). They're similar in influence, even if those similarities only come off superficially.
