>>65628247
Thanks for the fake virus torrent man. Fuck you.
>>65628159
Basically.
I haven't even heard it but I know it's the album of the decade
>>65628159
I don't come by /mu often because I'm not a big fan of swans.
What specifically is appealing about the band? I've tried listening to them multiple times, but i can't get into it.
>>65628159
I really don't understand the craze around Frankie M.
The lyrics aren't too strong (compared to the other "long" tracks which are fucking transcendent).
The progression is bit stagnant.
It's a great song, yes, just not on par with Cloud of Unknowing or Title Track.
I have to say I'm actually more of a fan of the shorter songs on this album. They seem more direct and focused.
>>65629267
What albums have you listened to? For post-reunion Swans at least, it's about atmosphere, about paying close attention to every detail and minutiae of the music and listening as it gradually morphs and shifts through different textures and atmospheres.
>>65629287
Yeah I think The Glowing Man is even better, so damn good.
mega link in the archive is dead

Frankie m or title track is probably best song ever made
BUTTERFLY

It's among their best.
Fantastic record. Not sure if it's better than To Be Kind or The Seer but it's really strong on it's own.
>>65629287
>Frankie M.
I really like the first few minutes of track that. Loving the female vocals - they come in waves and get louder and longer each time.
>The lyrics aren't too strong
Well, it's Swans. Swans is more about mantras than poems.
>not on par with Cloud of Unknowing
I agree. That song is probably my favorite from their post-reunion material.
>>65629374
I'm feeling the opposite. The only song I don't like is People Like Us. When Will I Return is also rather formulatic in my opinion. The last part sounds too much like the St. Vincent part in Bring the Sun.
>>65628159
no the intro is pointless prog wank.
>>65628159
It's pretty fucking amazing
>>65628159
I put my speakers on really loud and stood in front of them for the whole album and it was one hell of a trip
Really flawless. Better than the Seer and To Be Kind, it just flows so smoothly. You have no idea you are listening to a 25 minute track.
AHHH FRANKIE M-NATRA
>>65632639
Heh
so what's he gonna rate it guys?
Who else is seeing them tour this go around?
Making the drive to Milwaukee in July
I just listened through it for the first time, and I must say I'm not getting all of the praise so far. Especially the first half just feels like a watered down mix of The Seer and To Be Kind with no real new ideas. The only moments when I got that classic Swans transcendence feeling was the opening of Frankie M. and certain sections of the title track. Does it improve upon multiple listens perhaps?
>>65632770
go away anthony
>>65632798
serious question how do you think he'll rate it?
I am betting he gives it 9.
>>65632770
He'll think it's better than The Seer but worse than To Be Kind. So 9
>>65628247
Wow, you're a cunt
