It's fucking hilarious that you're from Derry. I'm from Manchester. Most of the music in NH is at least passable, but you seem to be a notable exception. You probably think my music sucks too though, so we're even. I don't dig the faux-sinister vibe that most of your beats give off, I don't like the fact that I can't hear the vocals most of the time, and when I can hear them I wish I couldn't.
>>65621710
I really love the instrumental parts of this, but the vocals don't do it for me. It's mightbe part of the slowcore aesthetic, I don't really know, but they feel lazy to me. The lyrics aren't bad but they feel like they'd work better on their own, as poetry, than plugged into a song.
>>65621748
Songwriting is great, singing is great, but there's something I don't quite like about the production. It's mixed extremely well, but the vocals and drums seem very present and clear and the rest of the instruments, especially that banjo-sounding thing it opens with, have a sort of underwater, distant-radio quality to them that takes away from it a little. Anyway, I might download this.
>>
>>65621983
i appreciate you giving it a listen! glad you liked some part of it
>>
>>65621983
>>65621748
And when I say "it" opens with, I mean In Spit. I understand opening a song with that sort of sound, but it sunds like it keeps going throughout, and it's especially noticeable at the beginning when the vocals come in. It just sounds a little off to me.
>>
>>65621983
It's fucking hilarious that you're even trying to critique my legend. Let's take a step back and realize who you are. You are a nobody. So let's just get over your jealousy issue and then try coming back.

Hey, that's pretty good!
Most recent release as a 4-piece
>post-punk, emo, indie rock and more
https://petalportmusic.bandcamp.com/album/eye-contact

We recently played a show in Sacramento mostly playing songs from Eye Contact and the crowd went nuts for the stuff, so maybe you'll like it too?

Finishing up the recording for the next Larksburg album this month. It was initially recorded late 2015 early 2016, all we have left to do is some vocals. Slight lineup change, major sound change, as per usual with Larksburg albums. Not sure when it will be out, but it's going to be 5 songs of some pretty rough around the edges sounding eclectic indie rock type stuff. I'm also in the demo process for the following album that'll be out in 2017, that could end up being on the shorter side too, 6 or 7 songs.

>>

I like this. I thing I listened to something of yours a while back that I didn't like as much, but this is solid. You should scream more. Use it wisely and tastefully, of course, but your screams are fucking savage and more of them wouldn't be a bad thing.
>>

It's been a while since I've come here regularly, so I forget: are you the guy that sometimes uses Abelian's name? I don't see him in here yet. Is that because you dismantled his career?
>>

Had a lot of fun listening to this. Points for the artist name. Contrary to Mike Z., I think you ought to continue making music. And to make the name tie in better, you might to consider working in phrygian mode, throw in some world music vibes. idk, just a suggestion.

Hey, I appreciate your listening. Most of the Larksburg stuff that came before Eye Contact ranges from decent to shit. So I can see why Eye Contact sounds like an improvement, which it totally is. Like I said in my post, more stuff is coming. If you like Eye Contact I think you'll like the EP that's coming next though it's a lot more rough sounding.

The other thing that I've been doing demos for since the start of 2016 is a bit more "arsty" and delicate, generally pretty removed from whatever punk/hardcore/emo sensibilities that are on what came before it, but it's going to have some of my best songs on it easily.

Thanks, man. The lyrics are mostly idiosyncratic nonsense and gibberish so I don't think a lyric sheet would help much.

I listened to your music and I dig it a lot. The playing is really tight (most notably the prominent bass and the great drumming). The vocals are a little too loudly mixed for me, but that's my opinion and you can tell from my stuff that I don't like mixing vocals in a prominent position. I downloaded and will be watching for new releases!

Hey, I wasn't gonna respond until I saw that you didn't have any response and I hate posting here and not getting anything. I really love the track I heard. You have a beautiful voice. My only criticism is that the instrumental is a little bit like what you'd find on a 2000's American medical show as the opening theme. But hey, you know who else did A 2000's American medical show opening theme? Massive Attack. Keep it up man.
>>65622558
I love the really harsh, precise opening part. Not usually my type of music, but I dig it. I might not listen to it again, but I'd recommend it to someone who would like something like this, although that's tough to find.
>>65622593
Kinda vaporwave-y. That's what it reminds me of. What effects are you putting on your voice? I'm trying to get into bedroom pop but I don't use that many effects, so it's kinda dry. Speaking of, could anyone help me with that? I use Audacity.
