One of my favorite albums of all time
>>65595459
Very popular band, but great pick
Any album occupying the #1 spot on a RYM genre chart is not a hidden gem.
I've never seen this album posted on /mu/, which is weird considering it was a Warp release from the mid-90s. The Wikipedia article for it feels like it was written by the musicians themselves.

This album was ALL THE FUCK OVER /mu/ when it came out. Split the population pretty evenly. I loved it, and just listened to it the other day. Everything they put out before S/T is just as good.
Listen to Sky Gardens if you haven't.
>>65596151
city pop IS vaporwave just at normal speed you literal retard.
>>65595340
That's a big album.
>>65596186
I think some of their other work doesn't have vocals, or am I mistaken? Anyway, Davey Crockett was good IMO

Day of the Great Leap is mostly instrumental. Sky Gardens has minimal vocals.
>>65595575
I can't find a working link for this album ;__;
>>65596238
What even indicates in that post that I'm butthurt? Are you just saying that just for the sake of using an effective word to get me to reply to you?

Busdriver is so great, though. Roadkill Overcoat and Jhelli Beam are my personal favorites.
I discovered Daughters when listening to Jesus Lizard. A guy I was hanging out with said JL reminded him of Daughters (even the though the precedence is reversed, JL came first).
Their eponymous album is my favorite.

>>65595340
Sure everyone knows the one song but I've never heard anyone mention this album.
>>65597036

Fun fact - Fang Island was born from the ashes of Daughters through the main guitarist of both bands, Nick Sadler.
>>65597405
Great, now I have to check out another band...
>>65597142
Fuck I love Cut Chemist. Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks for suggesting Fang Island, I'm checking them out right now and I really like them so far.
A friend randomly burned off a copy of Detrimentalist by Venetian Snares. I totally fell in love with it. I've since bought and enjoyed several other Venetian Snares albums. Good stuff (if you like that kind of stuff).

I never cared a bit about African music (apart from Ladysmith Black Mambazo which I only heard about from Paul Simon's Graceland album) until I had a boss who was really into Tabu Ley Rochereau. I found that I really liked Tabu Ley and his soukous music.

Fapardokly- S/t (1967)
Honestly a gem for it's time. Kinda sad that this band didn't get the same recognition as the Beach Boys or hell, even The Beatles.
I bought this Liars album on a whim because I thought the title was funny. I quickly became a big fan and I still love them, several albums and stylistic changes along.
