I actually agree with the OP, classical music is technical pointlessness with no soul for the sake of technicality. Bach's skill at counterpoint will never reach the level of emotion that Godspeed You! Black Emperor do on that album, and it will never reach the level of poignancy as Leonard Cohen does on Songs Of Leonard Cohen, for example.

How is what I said bait? I'm just giving my own subjective opinion on the classical form. I like Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven and some of Satie's pieces but I think the rest of it that I've heard (lots of Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Wagner, Chopin, for example) and it leaves me bored. Just opinions, man.
