Essential or overrated?

Essentially overrated.
I mean, overratedly essential.
>>65516587
That's not helpful
I want to know if I should sell my microKORG (paid $50 for it) and pick up a used Maschine
>>65516735
Overrated AF, just keep your mk1 and get a used launchpad
>>65516808
It's not the hardware I care about (I'm a pianist anyway and keys are better than pads), it's the software
>>65516808
Agreed
I´ve used a microkorg for 2 years, and just bought a launchpad. Works like a charm

I was never big on getting one, but watching this really sold it for me desu.
Now it's an essential piece of tech for me.

I don't know, I guess it's kind of useful for live performance or workflows which are suited toward it? I've never used hardware and my midi keyboard is collecting dust honestly.
If you're using it to produce it's not essential at all imo.

What do you recommend for production if I want electronic beats but don't plan on making EDM? My spirit animal for percussion is Radiohead
>>65517646
Ableton for sure.
You're much better off, trust me.
>>65516735
where THE FUCK did you get a microkorg for 50 dollars?
>>65517411
This is god tier.

Garage sale :D
I have a Maschine Mikro and it's pretty cool. I really don't like the maschine software though. I use it pretty much as a foundation/inspiration for a song and build around a beat I quickly throw together.
I'd say like someone else here said, just get a launchpad or something cheaper. Also make sure it's compatible with the DAW you use.
