Music in the 80s also got more and at the same time less political. On one hand, the 60s notion of strumming an acoustic guitar and singing protest songs...out the window and deprecated. On the other hand, with a few exceptions like John Anderson, Johnny Ramone, Duran Duran, and (strangely enough) Neil Young, most of rock jumped on the Reagan/Thatcher libtard butthurt bandwagon.

I think because of the increased transparency and lack of privacy due to social media, celebrities have had to become more packaged as to sell their product. The reason for the lack of creativity is because the public are fickle and will drop you as soon as you make a wrong step
