>>65482383
They're actually pretty good, desu. Sure, Freebird is an overplayed cultural meme, but it's not a bad song. Simple Man and Cutris Loew are both solid ballads.

Hell, Sweet Home Alabama isn't a bad song. As a giant "Fuck You!" to Neil Young, it makes me smile.

The fact that somebody took their time to make is hilarious
>>
>>65484007
Hey look, it's another person who has no fucking idea on the true story behind the song.

Ronnie Van Zant and Neil Young were great friends, Neil made a protest song against the racism in Alabama and Ronnie decided to reply to him with what was supposed to be a comedic celebration song. It wasn't his fault the song was later overplayed by conservative /pol/ faggots.
Also, Neil originally composed Powderfinger for Skynyrd, but then there was the plane crash. And legend says he helped carry Ronnie's coffin at the funeral. You can also hear him play Sweet Home Alabama in a bootleg some days later.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCd43ntfxB0

Get your history right.
>>
>>65484214
The fuck are you talking about? Neither Van Zant nor Young have ever said that. Neil Young specifically said that he was too generalized in his criticism of the south and that he deserved Van Zant shooting back at him.

>>
>>65484296
Yeah, no. This guy's right. And in addition to that, Sweet Home is also an anti-bigotry song. It's more about celebrating the good things in the south to say 'we're not all like that's

Goddamn, whoever made that parody is so fucking cringe. Its just a reversal of >>65483716 and it brings nothing new. Instead of calling out all of /pol/'s flaw, the artist decides that mimicking actually proves a point but instead fails short of its own hypocrisy.

Also
>that AB tattoo

Does the artist even know anything about AB? Since when /pol/ related themselves to a prison gang, you're better to put some neo-nazi punk band like Skrewdriver than than.

So you admit you use what music you listen to in order to cultivate a public image, nice to know.
>>
>>65484948
They package their image with their music, it's obviously what they want people to get out of it.

That doesn't affect the actual quality of the music though.

And you know what's funny? It's something which has been retroactively packaged with their image anyways. Or if not tell me where it is on this album cover.

They're obviously redneck, conservative, southern stereotype music but I can't deny how infectiously catchy some of their songs are and the sheer songwriting abilities. While Free Bird is an overplayed meme, the solo in it is truly amazing. SHA is also pretty good.

>>65485183
Bit of a false dichotomy to think an image can only be expressed through album artwork.

Regardless, that particular artwork may not mean anything bigoted, but it obviously expresses something else, which feeds the overall point that many artists want you to experience more than simply their audio recordings.
>>
>>65485323
I'm saying image shouldn't affect your enjoyment of a work of art at all. If the music sounds good the music sounds good. That's all that should matter.
>>
>>65485365
Why should that be the case?
>>
>>65485379
Because the image doesn't affect the quality of a piece of music, at least it doesn't for me.

Tell me why it shouldn't be. From my side of the coin you're just being superficial.
>>
>>65485447
I'm not the first guy you replied to. I'm just saying it's weird to claim that the music is the only thing that should matter to everyone, when even many artists themselves feel otherwise.

They are from the South and flies the confederate flags.

i've seen skynyrd twice in north carolina. not the kind of music i generally listen to, but holy shit it is amazing to watch rednecks get hammered and wyle out. audience members treated the show like a religious experience.

How often do you go to concerts or festivals? Better yet, how often do you leave your house?

The 'piece of cloth' has meaning in it. Are you saying that I flip my finger off to a cop means I'm saying hello?
>>
Well I guess I'll just leave this here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzJMK6Whkrg

The classic lineup sure loved their home, but they were pretty much southern hippies, not racist at all. And the modern version of the band look like a bunch of douchebags, but the guys are actually alright.
>>
>>65485906
i make at least one show a month. big difference between 20 something hippies/alt-kids and aging rednecks decked out in confederate imagery though.
>>
>>65482383
Because they play up the "DUDE SOUTH LMAO" factor so much that it becomes obnoxious and gimmicky.

No but Charlie Watts on the right looks like he's plotting something.
