Hmmm, shit bud. Its going to be a little harder for you. Through high school I played the flute, so I learned the basics of music from there, which allowed me to learn piano by myself easier. So you are really starting from the ground-up.
If you have the money for the Alesis, and can stand practicing regularly and studying scales, then go ahead.
So, with that all in mind, if you have money to blow, get the Alesis and Ableton. If you don't then FL Studio is a good choice.

FL Studio has god tier VST support, since it has a bridge plugin you can use 32 bit plugins from 64 bit FL and vice versa.
Ableton doesn't, so you can only use 32 bit plugins in 32 bit Ableton and 64 bit plugins in 64 bit Ableton.
