Truth OP. Lee is definitely underrated. I always thought he was a more interesting guitar player and songwriter than Thurston "punk rock" Moore. He also seems like the one who's the most fun to hang out with
Kim has the best post-SY career though.

Thing is that Lee probably was just as prolific as he was, if he was the main driving force there probably wouldn't even be half as many Sonic Youth albums as there are today. His quality over quantity gives him a better track record, but the band wouldn't have made it if Thurston and Kim didn't shit out enough material for an album every second year.
