Yesterday someone posted a thread saying "if you could have one band release a surprise album right now, who would it be?"
I responded with Daughters, and some guy mentioned that they may actually coincidentally be releasing a new album?!
That would be awesome because Daughters are the shit. Hell songs and their s/t are great sonic representations of hell or something. If they announced a surprise tour I would get excited.
Anyway, what's some good DENSE chaotic juicy noise rock? Or post whatever, I don't care.

A Place to Bury Strangers first two albums are really good in my opinion start with Exploding Head
>>65435298

i remember them saying they were in the studio a few years back

>'68 - In Humor and Sadness
Is a fun noise rock album, but it isn't like daughters, more like a slightly heavier In Utero but I think you might like it.
>>65435360
damn this is indeed a jam.

Cool thanks, i'll check out anything that gets posted. In Utero is best Nirvana.

this kinda blew my mind since I was just thinking about it this morning. It's so weird that they reunited three years ago, but they haven't come out with anything new yet.
Pic related is the shit too.
>>65435549
>That song reminded mo of the Locust some what so here is some Locusts related recs
I'm guessing you already know the Locust but I'll list a bunch of their similar side projects
>Head Wound City
Honestly I think these guys are great, they are a must listen
>Holy Molar
>Some Girls
>Retox
On a unrelated to the Locust give White Silence by Cave In a listen
>>65435360
Weird you posted that I just got back into Girl Band
>>65435710
Oh the Locust is in my backlog. I downloaded their self-titled but never listened to it, I'll get on that.
I've heard The Whole Tooth And Nothing But The Tooth by Holy Molar; ridiculous but great album. I'll listen to the rest as well.
>>65435580
Yeah Daughters s/t is an incredible album and I always wished they'd get back together to release something new.
Sacred Bones has some great noise rock releases for sure, I'll listen to Pop.1280 asap.
Destruction Unit - Deep Trip was pretty good and their next album was decent as well.
These are great Sacred Bones releases too:
Institute - Salt EP

Blank Dogs - Diana (The Herald)

One of the noisiest rock albums ever created.
>tfw googling daughters always brings up that awful coffee shop background music 4ad band 'daughter' instead
>>65436030
Yeah I think the Locusts second album is the best personally
hyped for potential new daughters
ordered the new gtoss live lp yesterday

HWC also has members of the Blood Brothers. nice to see another group coming back from a long hiatus. thoughts on their new album?

There's just something about Daughters though, they really mastered their sound and that s/t is pretty much perfect from start to finish. The layering at the end of The Theatre Goer creates an incredible climax and the album never slows down until it ends. If they do release something new it'll be great.
>>65437221
Pretty rad album, but I was really expecting something a bit more......."evolved" I guess?
>>65435298
The Mausoleums sounds really good and i want to hear more, but there are only 6 songs on youtube. Found beatzone.eu but are there other options of acquiring not so famous music?
>>65436030
Dude, Institute is fucking awesome. Thanks for sharing this.

I'VE BEEN CALLED A SINNER
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrwfsOJn0L4
Was just listening to this the other day, before all the pop music and shoegaze this band was a prime example of noise rock.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLT8JMnYdlc
I'll never stop posting this band. Later on they kinda fell into straight up alternative rock but the first two albums are pinnacles of angry, hectic noise rock with a strong storytelling element with lots of first person abstract lyrics.
>>65443162
>Honey Frosted Butts
Man I remember you from years ago, you shared some music with me idk what. Thanks for this band too
>>65443524
It was a while ago, yeh. Glad to help.
This might be entry-level but Young Widows is also solid.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VQ1gFOONsg
>>65443625
Young Widows are great. Found them through last.fm actually.
last.fm/user/dealfish
>>65440689
is black pus just a blatant ripoff of lightning bolt? It's like... the mask, the vocals, the drumming... everything. It's just so obvious it hurts.
>>65443885
black pus is an alias, brian chippendale aka the drummer of lightning bolt
Oldie but a a goodie.

>>65443829
Young Widows are awesome. As is the members' previou band, Breather Resist.
>>65435298
if you like daughters, try The Dillinger Escape Plan, Botch, Converge
they all do related things but faster more complicated and louder
>>65443625
>>65443829
>>65444365
saw young widows opening for boris a few years back
low energy no stage presence boring ass hipsters, main guy complained about a burrito for like five minutes
>>65435360
Saw them open for the band formerly known as Viet Cong, knowing nothing about them and their set made me a fan. Need to see them with a crowd that's really into it.
https://drunkinhell.bandcamp.com/album/drunk-in-hell-demo
Band from Middlesbrough in England. Barely known but they're very raw and loud. Almost sounds like metal. They haven't released an album despite this demo being released 8 years ago which is a damn shame.
>>65444587
That doesn't surprise me at all, the album Old Wounds is whiny as fuck but it's still pretty decent.
>>65435298
Nick's a cool guy. The band he plays bass in now is insanely good (note: it's not-noisy-at-all gothy post-punk).
they've been working on new shit for ages
>>65444542
Yeah I like calculating infinity and jane doe but hell songs is on another level imo.
Lex's new band Fucking Invincible is also really good heavy hardcore
>>65440222
check out Cemetery from Chicago
demo is their best release but for some dumbass reason only half of the dang thing is on bandcamp so good luck
>>65439142
I vaguely remember being told that new stuff is closer to Hell Songs, but don't put too much weight in that bc most of the time I don't actually talk about Daughters with the members of Daughters I know
>>65440522
you should see him play as Black Pus
https://youtu.be/YxSi4a0Ygk8
seen him more times than I can count at this point, def in the double digits
>>65443885
it's the same guy breh. I actually prefer seeing Black Pus because he has more freedom to change shit up, it can be anywhere from spacey jammy shit to explosive insanity; LB is just going full steam ahead, all the time, and the crowd will always react the same. Both are insanely fun to see and p much tied for my favorite live music experiences ever.
also I didn't realize other anon already posted the hilarious attic vid kek
>>65444587
They really are dull live, I was very disappointed. I saw Pygmy Lush open for them, though, and they were great
>>65444700
you from boro? live there right now myself, surprised I haven't heard of these
anyone know anything kind of mellow and jammy, but still with lots of sick guitar tones and textures and all that?
>>65435298
They announced they have something to tell us next week. We'll see. They were/are one of my favorite heavy bands around.
