This one is really obvious
>Safe, Vague, Neo-Soul Pastiche Spewed Over Token, Faux Jazz Instrumentation
>Format: Audio CD
I can ultimately understand the appeal of this album in an age of dwindling critical thinking and lessening appreciation for uncompromisingly valiant works of art, but this brand of false consciousness and trickery does not sit well. The unchecked messiah complex that [redacted] further develops here is extremely alarming. How could you seriously invest in the insincere, surface level, pseudo-revolutionary ramblings of an individual that is attempting to also (and more importantly) sell you overpriced headphones, vanity clothing items and garish cross-merchandising? I found this collection of empty attempts at relativity and exercises in repetition to be whiny, preachy (non enlightening), tremendously vague, shallow, self-important and padded front to back with neo-soul pastiche and weak Black power lite sentiments. This is an album that plays it very safe and ultimately risks very little. Here, potency and literacy are traded for the meandering manifestos of a unnecessarily self-appointed savior, a well developed, oportunistic product. The only saving grace, be there any may be the comforting, recycled, token, faux jazz instrumentation (Frank Zappa's album title, "Make a Jazz Noise Here" makes perfect sense in a case like this). Be mindful of what you are being force fed. This effort (?) is deserving of far less than the 1 star that it's being given. Also, the outro to this album is both blasphemous and dishonorable as well.

I can't post the whole this as it'd give the album away but he calls it "schlock disguised as art by an average musician that became kind of famous during the post rock bubble of the early 00's"

[Singer Name] sings like he owns a bonsai collection and cries when he accidentally snips a leaf wrong. I can imagine the pallid cabbage of his face puckering into a spoiled pout with every faux-affected lisp and sigh and it disgusts me. Listening to [band] is like being bugged to go eat at the new Ethiopian restaurant by your friend who's desperate to see himself as "cultured." No wonder this album resonates so heavily with a generation that's raised on youtube and thinks the world owes them a living.
