>>65419309
>Memewie
>>65419375
Is it really better than the studio version? Most of the studio one sounds live anyway (except that one track with overdubbed vocals).
>>65419849
you're retarded m8
Also AnCo don't have any masterpieces
>>65419893
this album sound 10x better live than the studio version

>>65419919
Damn wiki is a formidable rapper. This actually makes me want to see them live.
>>65419163
Yuss. Tracks (Tall Bodies) is a damn near perfectly written song.
To Be Kind
>>65418394
Why choose this one over Benji? As someone who loves both I'm curious.
>>65418445
Its good but I'm not sure about masterpiece.
>>65418493
>>65418514
no sorry :(
>>65419114
ding ding ding
>>65419836
one of my favorite bands but no
>>65419919
they opened for amco awhile back when I saw them and yeah, they're awesome live.
>>65419849
while i love amco, i cant say any of their stuff is really...hey wait that album came out in 2009
>>65420011
Newsom is a master. Strangely enough my favorite by her is Divers.
>>65419272
I thought Movement was better, but then I think "Lonely at the Top" just put me off the album. That ASMR stuff is creepy.
>>65420332
Divers might just be aoty 2015 for me. There's definitely a case for it being her best. It's a perfect middle ground between Ys and HOOM
>>65419237
lol no it's not.
>>65420332
bc people know this one less and its more ambitious and in some ways better
ofc you cant beat the spectacle and emotion found on benji, but i think universal themers was the more difficult feat
esp. bc he had to follow benji! no one expected him to top it, that would be impossible, but he tied it
also the stories are longer and more spread out on UT so in that way its a little better for repeated listens,
but ofc benji is way punchier
>>65420332
>As someone who loves both I'm curious
also just based on this we could be best friends
>>65418496
So choirs = R+7
m8 I think you need to revisit that album
>>65420484
I don't think it has quite as much depth as either. You're right about being something of a middle-ground, but it's like a plateau between two mountains.
>>65418514
This. Maybe not the best but you cant deny its influence.
>>65420153
they're fucking great live, saw them opening for anco and liked them a little bit more honestly
I get a weird vibe that they fit in better with the british hip hop scene than the american one, not really sure why but seeing all these vids of them on rinse and boiler room only strengthens my hunches
are they relatively popular over there?
>>65420474
awww poor spoopy lil babby boy. poo poo butt :(
>>65420735
I'm sorry but it the fawning praise comes across as creepy.
>>65419836
Asunder, Sweet was much better.
>>65419919
fuck this performance is sick. I'm def gonna look more into them. I already know Sporting Life for his 55 5's, just didn't know that he was part of Ratking
>>65420554
Quite respectable. I very much enjoy his stream of consciousness style approach and have found it more interesting on repeat listens but I still think Benji is all around more well done. UT seems like more highs and lows to me while benji appears more consistent. But like I said, I love both albums and its hard to compare the two because despite being similar in context they produce a very different sound.
>>65420583
:-)
>>65420634
>>65420484
respectable, however I disagree. I think Divers is her most cohesive and directed work. HOOM as much as I enjoy it is far too long to listen to in one go. Ys is stellar but doesn't quite feel like we get alot of Joanna on this album, it feels more like a collection of stories (which it is). Divers is the middle ground (that is done extremely well) because we get her great songwriting and singing talent combined with personality and creative song structure. At least in my opinion.

>>65418592
Yes
>>65423759
Not a fan of the whole album but...
I know it's been played to death and it's really, really not that creative, but I don't think I'll ever be able to hear the saxophone solo in Midnight City and not get into it. That song is perfect pop.
Helps that it came out while I was still in college...

pic related is my choice. i've noticed a lot of people who either hate Aesop or are lukewarm about him really liked this album.
as someone who's been listening to him for a while, i can easily say this is the best thing he's done
