"Krautrock" is a vauge and rather lazy term.
But yes, their early stuff up to Autobahn is considered krautrock.

That's an interesting opinion but I highly disagree. Nothing can top Trans Europa Express when it comes to Kraftwerk.

I'd call it "technopop" or just simply "electronic". I wouldn't call them synthpop because I associate that term with Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys and stuff like that.
I'm not a fan of labelling art though. I think it's a lazy thing journalists do.
