Yes. Logic added a bunch of shit that makes it easy for plebs to make music while at the same time making it harder for patricians to use it well. Ableton doesn't have any limits.

and ableton for live instruments

I'm currently remembering over a Sofronitsky album I heard as a child.
Logic = composition and piano roll (MIDI)
Ableton = everything except MIDI composition and piano roll
Pro Tools = mixing and mastering
Fruity Loops = getting stoned and farting around
Garageband = mini experimental Logic - you'd be surprised what you can turn out with it
For instance, I made this whole album in Garageband:
