IMO New Day Rising is better.
Hüsker Dü may very well be the best post-hardcore band, but there are a number of fantastic bands in the genre. Some personal favorites are I Hate Myself, Portraits of Past, Touché Amoré, and Quicksand. Other worthwhile groups include Ampere, Fugazi, ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, Planes Mistaken for Stars, Jawbox, Unsane, Dag Nasty, Brand New, Funeral Diner, At the Drive-In, Envy, Hot Water Music, Rodan, and Big Ups.

I personally think you're using the term "Post-Hardcore" too loosely, especially with bands like I Hate Myself, Portraits Of Past, Ampere, Funeral Diner and Envy, but I see a lot of good bands there (the ones already named plus Planes Mistaken For Stars), so you're fine :^)
