Does anyone else mourn for what vaporwave used to be? It really has had it's image destroyed, this was inevitable though since the genre was coined it allowed every kid and their dad to latch onto it. artists like yung lean and vaportrap are evidence of this.
I liked the melancholic/ambient direction it was going in around 2 or 3 years ago but I can't endure listening to slowed down vocals and trap in order to find good tracks anymore
It isn't dead though. A lot of good albums have been released the past year and this one but they didn't get exposed properly... I'm building a new vaporwave essentials guide for that actually.
Anyway I made a list of some good hypnagogic vw here (system won't let me post it here): http://pastebin.com/QmzYwJ48
The guide I'm building is here: http://virtual-plaza.net/index.php?threads/introducing-the-vaporwave-essentials-guide-nu-edition.7/

I'm trying to enter a pervertcore and abusecore phase, an evolution of the somewhat failed girlwave / vaporn experiment

Sweet.
You're the guy who made the "Worthwhile Vaporwave" MEGA, right?

Why?
Also this is good. Do you plan on doing more?
If you completed an EP/LP I can feature you on my guide.

No, I am the guy who suggested most albums in this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Vaporwave/comments/4etlp1/were_building_a_new_vaporwave_essentials_guide/

I'm everywhere, mate
(but I don't post often because that sub is disgusting to be honest)
>>65412654
Oh wow, you?! I remember you quite well.
Funny seeing you here though... Especially since there aren't a lot of VW threads here. And the fact that you hate Trump. :P

I don't want anyone to own this unfinished sample product. Was just hoping for feedback of any kind. It will be thirty mins or so hopefully. How should I contact you when it's done?
>>65412750
Never mind I'm an idiot.
>>65412750
Understandable, and the length is fine.
You can send me a PM on plebbit at /u/nuvpr .
Otherwise you can send me an email, not gonna post my address here ofc but you can find it in a text file named "Contact Info" on my MEGA:

Oh well. :P
>>65412700
Funny to see you here, too. I think vaporwave is quite accepted on this board, even if there aren't many related threads. I like a lot of other genres though.
>>65412878
I come here occasionally to shill on the current vaporwave thread, most of the time to no avail though... But my luck might just be changing!
>I like a lot of other genres though
Like what? Just curious.
OP did you check pic related?
>>65412945
> I come here occasionally to shill on the current vaporwave thread
That's good
I like folk, rock, shoegaze, post-punk, art pop, avantgarde, experimental electronic, new classical (=electronic), ambient and field recordings. The more weird the better, that's why I listen to vaporwave lol
What about you?
>>65413143
Not listening to much currently, but I used to listen to EDM such as Trance, House, Techno...etc plus some Ambient and casual Pop music.
What I like about vaporwave is the fact that it has elements from a lot of the genres you posted, I can enjoy different styles of music without specifically looking for a certain genre... But I'm willing to broaden my tastes and try new styles.

True.
You know... before I discovered vaporwave back in 2013 I hardly listened to electronic music, now I really enjoy most of its subgenres. House is great, especially that of the 80s, when it was an underground phenomenon.

That's not vaporwave, and certainly isn't hypnagogic.
