I think vaporwave is bad because sounds bad.
IMO by far the best vaporwave album is Virtua.zip. Maybe not the most definitive in the genre, but certainly the best to me. What I WISH vaporwave was like is Games—We Can Play.
The rest is either eccojams-style plunderphonics, which sound worse than originals; or amateur electronic music with basic ambient elements which allegedly make it 'vaporwave'.
What happened to the MIDI aesthetics? The essence of the '80s–'90s hedonist consumerist heaven? The cheesy jazz from 情報デスクVIRTUAL mixtape? It's like people who try to make 'vaporwave' are so young that they have no love for these things, and just hopped on the vaporwave bandwagon because it's '90s and it's from 4chan.

However something that is easy to make, will attract a lot of untalented dumbfucks that will spam out the same shit over and over, release after release, finally drowning the genre in shit. This is basically the vaporwave "community" today.
With a genre that is drowning in shit, you will have a hard time finding the remaining stuff that is actually good within it.

Not all vaporwave is made with the idea of the aesthetic being above the musical ideas. I'm currently pouring my heart and soul into a vapor album with all self made samples and it is 100% about the music. It's incredibly true that the genre is oversaturated with amateur attempts at recreating the sound from eccojams/Mac+ tho. I've been listening to some amateur vapor posted around and it is 99% whole songs with no chopping and screwing and no added synths.

I think it's because she has some resentment towards the vaporwave scene. She can not stand that albums as Floral Shoppe, which are technically simpler and more trivial than others she composed under other monikers, are venerated as masterpieces by our community.
