Sometimes, TPAB feels strained, I agree, but it has a better message and feels more timeless than GKMC, which has a majority of songs that are "in the moment" kind of tracks.

TPAB was absolutely brilliant. By far the most technically impressive rap record ever made. Every time I listen to it, I pick up on a new subtility. Kendrick recruited some world class musicians for it.

Right, GKMC was his way of becoming mainstream and appealing to the average "rap-head." Then when he got to where he wanted he was able to make the masterpiece that is TPAB.
So in a sense, they're both just as good for what they were made for/made to be. But in general, TPAB is waaaaaaaay better and timeless. It just is in every way possible, no question.
