Why is Daniel Johnston one of the most influential songwriters/musicians of all time?
People will say his sincerity and delivery, which is true, but I think he's a genuinely good songwriter. My yolk is heavy's got beautiful lyricism.

Fuck I hate this generic garbage
Because he's just a regular guy who is also a really good songwriter and pretty skilled piano and chord organ player who couldn't sing but still recorded his own music and self-released it to force himself into recognition.

funny how the warm and dusty sound of his recordings almost sound modern, since many producers try to replicate this kind of effect to increase deepness in the sound they're crafting

He's not. It's just that his shirt was worn by one of the most influential songwriters/musicians of all time.
Hes literally not. Maybe for outsider music but I really think he is overhyped.
Still a good artist though who is sadly afraid of casper

I didn't imply either of those things, though I do agree with the former.
