Okay eg: you have a playlist and there's a trap rap song, an alternative rock song, an EDM style pop song and a technical death metal song. You like all these songs equally and you put the playlist on shuffle.

When you come across different genres are you more likely to skip to a genre you prefer? I do this quite often if my playlist has a lot of different songs from different genres and I'm biased towards rock music so for example if I'm in this mood and it's a choice between "Swimming Pools" or Good Charlotte's "The Anthem", I'll pick the rock song even though it's cringey af.

I don't think that makes you a "genre-ist"? That just means you prefer a style of music over others on a consistent basis

I do but maybe i wanna have a collection of my favourite post hardcore shit so of course i listen to full albums and then add the songs most desirable to a quick, easy post hardcore playlist of my preference, the spice of life man

No, I shuffle everything

I never use playlists. But if I wanted to make a playlist I would probably want all the songs to have a similar mood and sound similar so no completely different genres on the same playlist. Not that they have to sound exactly the same but I probably wouldn't want trap and tech death on the same playlist.

playlists are for making for plebs to listen to to get into good music
albums are for listening to

And you're calling other people plebs?

kek do you skip to your favorite sections of books you read to?
>>
>>65370753
Yeah I used to just have one GIANT playlist of songs I liked and it would often disrupt whatever mood the previous song was giving so I'm glad I diversified and broke it down into many smaller ones. I dunno I just try to broaden myself as much as possible
>>
>>65370669
what if you made the playlist?

no but don't you ever have the urge just to listen to a particular fav song from an album you love? If I do I add it to a playlist . Sometimes I wouldn't wanna sit through an entire album to enjoy that one song off that one album that gives off a mood that's special
