You know at first I didn't know what to think of the song. I was pretty bummed. But now, on my second listen, knowing that they're kinda going for another eclectic road trip thing, I kinda like it.
The sound of Frankie Sinatra makes me imagine a carnival or a dirty state fair in the Midwest or something. I think the bounce really suits the vibe its going for on this track.
Would I be disappointed if the whole album sounds like this? Incredibly fucking disappointed. Do I think it will? No.
We already know shit like Subways (the very next son) will sound like classic Avalanches and the album art's beautiful.

But enough time passed that I guess people stopped realising their music was a shit joke and instead took it seriously.
Now they're back with another shit meme song. I guess their legend is such that people will pretend it's good again. I doubt they can replicate the success though. Very simple instrumental, very dissapointed in that front. Writing it off as electro swing isn't fair, but I can see where it's coming from. The Favorite Things part I found pretty bad, nothing new being added there.
Danny Brown's flow was enjoyable, but the lyrics weren't anything interesting. DOOM suprised the fuck out of me and killed it per usual.
I don't know. Not a bad track, but not some great hype beast that'll fulfill 16 years of waiting. I think it could really sound better in the context of the whole album though, especially if this one has some sort of concept to it. I like the road trip idea presented earlier in the thread, I totally see this song as some filthy bum town, like the video portrays.

You know at first, the Sound of Music sample seemed pretty cheap to me.
But thinking about it now, I think they knew how much that song known and adored by everyone, so they put it in this unsanitary kind of song for the sake of contrast or its juxtaposition.
