I have great hope for this album, judging by the description and the single. I feel like it will capture the style of Skeletal Lamping/False Priest while bringing back the light, cheery tone of early oM.
The music is good but, again Kevin Barnes pushing leftist agendas. I don't think some artists should get involved.
I understand he acts camp as fuck and it's expected but jeez.

IIRC first he ditched Derek because of issues on how he wanted things done (notice how after this Kevin went back to writing all of the music?). I think his big deal was that he was getting tired of his own Beatles worship but Derek wanted it to stay that way.

The documentary shows that some of them are kind of bitter about it, but recognize the shit they did together was not only glorious but all because of Kevin, so if he wants to do it his way, they can't really stop him.
Kevin engenders a love-hate relationship in everyone, including himself. One day you're great friends, the next day he's bored with you at best and furious with your complacency at worst. And you stick with him until he's completely done with you.

Not only is he Kevin's brother, but he has been there since Kevin was a young, insecure shy guy sending in tapes to the Elephant 6 pretending to be a whole band when it's clearly just him. Further, I think David is probably the one person Kevin truly respects from an artistic point - for all of Kevin's understanding of spectacle and fashion, David is the only one who can meet him on the level in terms of vision and theatrics. David has always, since they were children, been better at visual art than Kevin has, so he's never going to lose his respect for him.
