If Pink Floyd didnt make this, King Crimson wouldnt have made Court of the Crimson King
this is pretty much the birth place of prog and its a great album and very psychedelic
It's shit. It's a space shuttle whos crew just lost its captain. Floyd had no clue what the fuck they were doing on this album without Barrett. The albums in between Piper and Meddle are Floyd finding its legs.
Not to be rude, but technically the band that created prog rock

Shit, what I meant to say was that The moody blues was the band that created prog rock

>Floyd had no clue what the fuck they were doing on this album without Barrett.
you do know barrett played on like all of the songs, even if he didnt write them, right? he may not have been the bandleader at this point but its not directionless, that'd be ummagumma

>The albums in between Piper and Meddle are Floyd finding its legs.
according to the band they feel one album isnt better than another, they feel they put out their maximum effort and energy towards every release, except maybe ummagumma, and even then they were expected to showcase their individual styles and talents
>>65317108
>except maybe ummagumma,
meant also to say their soundtrack releases too, since they were rushed and an after thought
>>65317062
ummagumma is so good, it's their most psychedelic imo
>>65316995
man i love days of a future passed, why doesnt it ever gets mentioned on mu?
>>65319177
>it's their most psychedelic imo
how
>>65320976
He probably meant "experimental"
>>65321021
how though? all the pieces done by each member are just stuff they'd do performing saucerful of secrets...

I honestly have no idea. I mention it as often as possible, though, as it is my favorite album this far. It's a really beautiful piece that I feel everybody should hear at least once in their lifetime. People who say that ITCOTCK was the first great prog rock album just make me upset.

>why doesnt it ever gets mentioned on mu?
a fuckton of great stuff is never mentioned on mu, I very rarely see something I don't know and usually when I listen to it, it sucks
I think this music forum is extremely mainstream and superficial, but once in a while there is an okay thread

I agree in terms of order perhaps, ITCOTCK is a fucking classic however (also)
