It's precisely the fact that, despite their attempt to be serious and emotionally powerful, Linkin Park sound so tame and sterile that makes them ridiculous. Their screams are low-key as fuck.
You don't get what the "edgy" meme comes from; we originally used it as a sarcasm against people who think they're acting edgy (intimidating, provocative, deep, etc..) but just fail at it.
