Hey /mu/,

I really love Arca's production style and his work with FKA Twigs and Bjork and would like to learn how to do a lot of the sort of glitchy UK Bass kind of style.

I have FL Studio already, but I have no clue where to get started.

First of all, FL Studio isn't good for that kind of thing, I would recommend Cubase, Pro Tools, or Ableton

Second, it all basically lies in automation, sidechaining, LFOs, etc.
>>
>>65302474
dont. when you actually learn how to create music in DAWS all the magic of music is taken away and everything you hear just sucks after that.

>>65302522
this guys retarded. FL is the same as ableton, just different UI.
>>
>>65302548
THIS guy is retarded too.

Probably think learning music theory kills music too.

It's like what Feymann said about learning physics- It adds more dimensions to what was already beautiful to begin with
>>
>>65302614
nah, thats not at all what its like. its like learning how all the magic tricks are done when watching a magic show.
>>

FL's UI is fucked though and doesn't cater nearly as well to non-pattern based music

Ableton is just easier to use

not op but can you recommend someone better(im not fan of arca anyway and think that he is quite repetitive even though he tries his best to not be).
>>
>>65303042
Arca has his moments, but like you said, it's almost self-sabotage.

Guys like Tim Hecker, Nicolas Jaar, Oneohtrix Point Never and Ben Frost run laps around Arca
