Does corpse paint add anything to Black Metal performances?

I like corpse paint. It might be cheesy but it also looks cool sometimes and makes it known that the artist plays black metal. Lots of artists use corpse paint for different reasons, but it seems as though it adds to the music in the sense that it removes the human aspect from the art so that all you have left is the music, or something pretentious like that.
is there anyone that just paints their face all black or all white?

Black metal dork here, we do it cuz its cheesey and fun. None of us take appearance too seriously and spend a lot of time making fun of try hard "too trve" faggots. There's no reinventing the wheel with the genre anymore so might as well have a good time.
Performances? Yeah. All theatricality makes performances look cooler.
