Carsick Cars probably is one of the best bands in China right now.
Recommending My Little Airport for sure. If you're allowing old stuff too definitely reccing Li Xianglan's My Lonely Boudoir. Right now I'm listening to Cao Fang's Meet Me. It's a bit cheesy but it's also pleasant so it's alright.
Oh and for rock, I recommend Chinese Football.
