okay, so panda had a few flashes of inspiration surrounding his father's death, his marriage, and the birth of his children and knocked it out of the park with Person Pitch and many of the best tracks on MPP but the dude is done for. He's phoning it in with the solo records. Avey is worse off than Panda is now, but it's clear that Avey was driving Animal Collective in their formative years up to 2007. They're essentially tied in the running, with Panda having a more recent and influential run of successful writing. In any event, stop talking about AnCo and stop disturbing my good memories of listening to their work in the wake of CHz nervously waiting for them to redeem themselves on the next record only to be crushed by PW's awful chintzy gumdrop pop

I dunno, cool vibeeees, sure. My favorite track from those sessions is Cosplay. I don't find myself returning to that record. There's not really a context for those sounds. Pretty flat and lacking the dynamics I enjoy.
