It's the 2nd of November.

Listen to your library, show off your backlog, babble about new music, tell us what you have been listening to today and what you will listen to in the following month, just let the good times flow.

Well I looked it up on discogs, it's basically what it says it is. I don't know how familiar you are with blue note but if it isn't too much then you can use it to discover stuff. Other than that, there are some on sale for 20€ if you don't plan on listening to it still.

I'M FISH: Sweet Trip - Velocity : Design : Comfort

Cool album. The experimental parts of it were interesting. Good glitches and shit y'know. Unfortunately, I find that sometimes they got boring and monotonous. As for the pop parts of this album, they were pleasant and I really wish they had more of them. I'M FISH does not advance.

yamir: Various Artists - Katamari Damacy Fortissimo

This was so much more creative than I expected. Cool production, fun songwriting, a cute vibe and various other things make this the winning rec. I'd give it a 4 on my RYM if I hadn't stopped rating soundtracks. Might play the game because of this desu. Yamir advances.

Gonna do Movenglut and Torts' recs before the end of the month and we'll be on to round 3.

>>
>>65221601
>>65221719
I'm not post-feelist or poly but I lurked/posted as Anon in /classical/ for a while when the old classycool trip gang (R.I.P ;_;) was still there. I think CLT influenced the general when it came to memes and shit. I don't know about taste (cause I didn't even listen to much classical anyway) but he did have this chart with rutracker links that would get posted.
>>65221743
The meme surrounding him is that he's a clown without jest or something along those lines.
>>
For som reason, I ended up on my ex-girlfriends Instagram just now. I do not think I have felt true hate this much in a long time, it honestly took me by surprise.

Oh yeah, I remember that chart. CLT's abridged guide or something of the sort. Cool guys, just like weebteam it's sad to see them go.
>>
>>65221921
Oh man weebteam. That was entertaining stuff. Too bad I was too new to comprehend what was going on when I first saw them. Was GJ part of weebteam? I remember him being the major/frequently posting hated trip for some time in 2014 and I know I certainly disliked him before. Nowadays, not really.
>>
>>65221984
Yeah man, weebteam had the best sense of humor. They were the perfect manifestation of trip-culture.

I didn't get to know GJ too well before he left so i cant give you a definite answer but I did enjoy talking to him while he was here. Him and Friendo posted in /daily/ for a bit, it was a nice time though I do remember having to delete one thread after it barely started since it was spiralling out of control.

Tbh I thought you were GJ when you first started tripping because in my mind only he was capable of causing such a stir so quickly despite being new.
>>
>>65222022

>Tbh I thought you were GJ when you first started tripping because in my mind only he was capable of causing such a stir so quickly despite being new.
I saw some comparisons before. The difference between GJ and TE aside from taste, name and other obvious stuff is that GJ was completely sincere(?)

when they really pull themselves together, they can be very moving. you turn me on really evokes that childhood nostalgia/wistfulness vibe and it's simultaneously sad and life-affirming- it's music that feels like a longing for more innocent times, which resonates pretty heavily with a lot of people. their earlier/more garagey stuff is pretty charming (and sometimes a little creepy) as well.

maybe. idk, i don't think it's the same as emo, it's a different kind of feeling, more sunny and pastoral i guess?
i am aware that i'm being pretty vague, because it's not really very easy to explain the appeal of beat happening to somebody who doesn't get it immediately. for people who like them, the things about them that seem really naive and basic to non-fans fall together in just the right way to get a really specific emotional response that causes a lot of people to become attached to them. there's something about their lyrical sense, songwriting, and overall sound that just tugs at the heartstrings in exactly the right way.
it's fragile, though- even as somebody who likes beat happening, they can sometimes get a little insufferable.

yee maybe. that feel you describe also reminds me of The Books even tho they sound completely different (as in, good)
they'd be cool if they were bad enough to have that Shaggs thing going on
they'd be more up my alleyway if they used any expressive techniques, but emotional communication aint as simple is it?

but like, whatever, eh?

I finished cleaning my apartment.

While cleaning, I listened to Vinter's album. I need to relisten, but so far I feel like he has the same exact problem I have when doing free improv. It feels lost. I don't exactly see what, why and where. Maybe the next listen will tell.

The instrumentation is very good though.
Nice drums.

Its like listening in onto a drugged up Hippie jamz session. It's droning, long, directionless, and a rather big sound that's full of life. I had fun listening to this but I feel to really experience or "get" this, I would need to be high on some level.

Plenty of people here like Metal, though it's mostly the hipstery stuff like Boris, Sleep, Earth, and Liturgy.

The trips are mostly for keeping tracks of recs, and people do tournaments a lot. Plus it makes it easier for people to make fun of someone for a ****wrong opinion*****.

There's a lot of memeing here, but I'd still say there's more music discussion here than /metal/.

Three fantastic tracks and two lackluster tracks (you know the ones), spread out fairly evenly as to not taint the listener's enjoyment too much. For a prog album this is absolutely amazing, taken out of context it's still really good, if somewhat inconsistent.

Hungover, so the writing will be even worse than usual

Baby Huey - The Baby Huey Story: The Living Legend

I had the highly recommendable experience of listening to the first track while dressed well and walking down a city street. I felt like a fucking pimp. This edges out James Brown and Otis Redding's live recordings as my favorite high energy, way-too-fun soul/funk gangbang. Regular rotation 4.0+

Have a Nice Life - Deathconsciousness

woo, i dont know, man. not my thing, lemme tell ya. if this was half as long i still would have lost patience. i liked the opener, and the general vibe of the album was pretty nice, but the exciting parts were too few & far between, and too brief when they showed up. I hear a lot of talk about the lyrics here, but I barely noticed any of them. if someone told me this was a young dead guy's complete discography, and that it was being memed mostly as kind of a joke but also for the OK moments, i'd believe it. can't tell if i like the memey song titles here or hate them. 2.5-

Eureka was v.exciting on first listen but shrunk to p.good on second listen, and I haven't revisited it yet. [20:34:04] Ryuko Mvtty: https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/wendy_carlos/beauty_in_the_beast/
k im on the last track now i believe. great meme, i give 4.5/5 meme points
[20:34:44] Ryuko Mvtty: on a completely arbitrary, undefined scale, of course
[20:42:00] Ryuko Mvtty: but im lying down in bed atm, and listening to an album doesnt require me to get up as often
[20:45:08] Ryuko Mvtty: im 100% sure this album was most of the influence on Shaking the Habitual. microtones, world musics, synthesized "real" instrumentation and all
[20:45:47] Ryuko Mvtty: even the fact that shes trans and the knife dabbled into all this gendershit. makes sense to me idk
