Also removing the pole pieces from one side. Going for a weak, anemic, Rickenbacker tone.

Actually, before I forget, I was thinking of leaving the air coil always on even though I know it'll pick up a bit from the neighboring pole pieces, since the other pickup in the guitar is a single coil and hum cancelling could be nice. Thoughts?

What are some bands other than Sigur Ros that use bowed guitar for something other than noise?
Is it possible to actually use a bow to play meaningful music on a guitar? I've tried a lot but it seems impossible to hit anything but the highest and lowest strings, and even then there's a lot of screeching and scraping.

Would there be any quality decrease from modding a 3.55MM output (the ones used for PC microphones and headphones) onto a guitar so that I don't need an adapter for PC uses? The good old 6MM output remains there, but would the 3.55MM one sound any worse under ideal circumstances?
>>
I have worked fucking magic on this guitar. It sounds phenomenal. I'm gonna do a demo soon, all virtual stuff though. What's a mix of amps and pedals you guys 'd like for such a demo?

I left in the pole pieces for now, I might try taking them out too, just to go over the edge completely.

>stereo to mono
>>
>>65218643
not as long as it was wired the same, no.
>>
>>65218713
They're exactly the same. The mono output from the pickup going to both the mono connector on the 3.55MM and the 6MM, and the same with the ground connector.
>>
>>65218656
TRS doesn't automatically mean stereo. You can have a mono source through a TRS input and the two lines will work with one another to reduce line static
>>
>>65218742
then as long as you don't mistakenly short anything out, it won't sound any different. I'd avoid plugging both outputs in at the same time, because then the impedance of your computer and the impedance of your amp are interacting, which might get weird.
>>
>>65218760
What the fuck would I plug both in for?

I don't know, people get weird ideas like putting a 3.5mm jack into their guitar in the first place instead of using an adapter.

And after you get your first pedal you'll just use an adapter to plug into that, then?
>>
>>65219050
I already have a pedal and I only use it with an Amp. Why the fuck would I connect it to a PC? All I do with my PC and my guitar is effects when my pedal doesn't have what I'm looking for.
>>
>>65219070
I have a rocksmith cable plugged into the Auxiliary output of my Sansamp specifically so that I don't muck about with moving the thing. That guy might be on to something: if you have, for example, any true bypass pedal (ideally one you don't actually want to use), you can use it as a sturdy non-moving housing for an adapter, and just plug into the pedal when you want to connect to your PC.

I guess you could also get a broken pedal as long as it has two good jacks, crack it open and just directly solder them together without any pedal circuitry between them.

Alright, here's the demo of my first act. I have plenty of excuse prepared for my poor playing if required. First is neck pickup through vox ac30, then with tube screamer, next is bridge the same, next is both the same.

Fell in love with a girl played with fender reverb, with a tiny bit of spring reverb, boosted. I can't remember the order of pickups but both at the same time is last.

Sorry it's so long but please tell me what you think of the guitar by listening to a little of it.

I know the audio shits out a few times. My computer is shit.

It just seems pointlessly limiting. A box with each of the necessary jacks would do just as well. Or a cable with 1/4" on one side and 1/8" on the other. There are faster, cheaper, and easier to accomplish ways to solve the issue. Just sayin'. Do whatever.

So I just bought this Ak410 for $300 local. The grill frame is slightly warped on the top but other than a couple of nicks it is in great condition.

Reminds me exactly of the Ampeg 810 I used to have, probably because it is sealed with enclosed 2x10 chambers.

I may have posted this the other day I can't remember desu. Now I'm just trying to sell my old USA Washburn so I can get a new amp head to go with it.

What difference does the amount of pickups make? ie 2 vs 3 shouldnt be too much of an issue? or does it actually affect where you can play it?
>>
Longtime lurker.

This is my setup. 1964 Gibson SG Junior into a Pro co RAT2 into MXR tube-screamer into a Dunlop 95Q Crybaby Q was pedal and a BOSS DM-2W to end the chain all played through my Blackheart Killer Ant 1watt amp.
>>
>>65221688
3 pickup, say 3 humbuckers with volume controls impart a smoother tone to your playing. Fuck single coils. Fuck thin jangly sounds. Im not a faggot. Im a rock star richer then all of you. I eat the whole egg.

the classic overdrive is not a tubescreamer. Its nothing close to the TS circuit. The enclosure is green, but they made them in black and white too. Its MxRs circuit and has an internal switch on the PCB to make it a Zakkwyle Overdrive. Use what you have to make music. Learn to do the most with minimal equipment.

Yellowed silverbursts look good. You do know it's just the clear coat right? If it bothers you it's just a matter of pulling it off and reapplying it. Then you're back to the original colour.

An Epi wouldn't discolour anyway. Wrong finish type.

As for bass I'd just go with a fretted and a fretless 5 string.
I don't mind modding, so I'll probably add in a few controls and swap pickups on everything.
I also plan on gigging, not full on touring musician but playing some shows would be nice.

Here it is, kids: 7, 8, and 9 string guitars are the result of kids playing in their bedrooms for years and years all alone. The poor kid in this video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osaqzYuoNr4 ) overly technical "playing" is unfortunately just a compensation for the lack of a bass player/band. It's sad because the point of music is communication and the most enjoyable form of this communication is a concert (where people gather to share the musical experience). The only people who'd be interested in this kind of guitar wankery are other isolated bedroom-stuck 7, 8, and 9 string guitar troglodytes, so it's YouTube and the bedroom again, and MOM WHERE THE FUCK ARE MY HOT POCKETS?!?

Seriously though, it's a symptom of extreme social detachment/isolation, and goes right along with a lot of other unhealthy things like playing video games as an adult, masturbating to internet porn, etc. You'll also notice all these bedroom "pastimes" require a good bit of rapid hand/finger movement.

Playing music shouldn't be the equivalent of mashing buttons on a video game controller or furiously jacking your tiny dick, which is obviously what 8 and 9 string guitar players believe.

>solo composition has never been done before ERGs
>bands with ERG/Bs don't exist
I'd rather pity the shitposting bored guy than the dude touring and making money out of his passion.

You keep posting solo artists pretending they're all lonely and being pathetic because they're alone, that's not really making a point. Look, I can do it too.

>fucking old man can't even know anybody despite his age
>classical guitar is stupid and outdated
>look at this wanker and all his notes, he's obviously overcompensating because he's alone

>not knowing the topic you're arguing.
>not knowing Epiphone doesn't make an SG Special like that.

hey guys, I have a handicap at my right hand, and I became a lefty because of that, do you gus think maybe I can play guitar, eletric guitar or bass? I can go up and down in the chords with my roght hand, and do normal stuff with my left, can I play at least something? Or I have to use both hands in very difficult ways always?
>>
>>65225892
No sorry.

Hey acoustifags I bought one of these for £160 second hand and it'll probably come next weekend. Did I do goofed or nah?

Apparently sigma is Martins equivalent to fender's squier from what I've read

Django Reinhardt kept playing despite having lost most of his hands, Tony Iommi has lost his fingertips and still plays (he has prosthetics though), Les Paul played with a cast for a while. All you need is determination.
As for which hand to use, I'd say that depends if you want to play fingerstyle or with a pick, and how you're handicapped.
>>
>>65225991
I have all fingers and members, but I can't move my right fingers very well or fast

It's going to be lesser quality than a traditional Martin, use lesser woods, more bracing, etc
So it won't sound as good.

However if you are beginning or just want a cheap acoustic to mess around with it'll be more than fine until you want to upgrade
