All the threads about their supposed new album made me finally listen to this - and I love the shit out of it.
What are some albums that were influenced by SILY? Preferably in their approach to sampling and general sound, not just in being plunderphonic.

Check out these albums:
J Dilla - Donuts (more explicitly hip hop, somewhat different approach to sampling, but similar in feel in places...also essential turntablism)
Vanilla - Soft Focus (again, more hip hop, but very smooth—lots of soul samples, pretty similar upbeat feeling)
Saint Pepsi - Hit Vibes (more associated with vaporwave/future funk but definitely worth checking out for the sample-based, occasionally disco-influenced ongoing party vibe)
Nothing else is exactly like SILY, but bits of those albums remind me of it and i enjoy them all quite a lot.

Lemon Jelly - Lost Horizons is the only album using samples that comes close to the kind of happy atmosphere this album spreads

>Vanilla - Soft Focus
Listening to it now, this is just what I've been needing lately. Thanks for the rec.
Check out Onra, especially his Chinoiseries. Sample-based hip hop that's perfect for that tropical summery vibe that's present on SILY.

For early sample based artists, check out what DJ Shadow says on the sleeve of Endtroducing. He drops a bunch of names that should be relevant.
For Avalanches though, they originated out of a Beastie Boys type sound, so maybe check out the dust brothers. Other than SILY shouldn't be considered a plunderphonics album genre ways, I think alt. dance makes more sense. So, look into that if you want more music with the same feel.
