MGMT are the biggest failure of a band there is.
You go on Spotify and all people ever listen to is Electric Feel, Kids and whatever the other single was. Nobody gives a shit about the rest of their material - why? Because it's boring, wishy-washy half assed 1960s wannabe music that never convincingly gets off the ground.
As a result, everybody who attends their concerts is totally fucking bored shitless until they unfailingly play their three supposedly disowned pop singles, despite the fact that's the only material that has kept them in business.
They could have been a decent electro pop group, thought they were something better, weren't, tried to backpeddle with their last album which didn't end up coming up with any bangers, and now they exist in a shit pile of their own creation, neither here nor there, having truly fallen between the stools and entirely undeserving of any attention or reputation.
Very hyped about their album but I doubt its gonna be any good.
