Ecdysis was more original and The Chills was a great, even if derivative, revival album that had a lot of passion. The Chills had the best riffs, Ecdysis tweaked with the formula enough without straying off path and Anareta just feels fucking boring.

It's definitely there as a genuine concern with things like deafheaven and some atmosludge bands, but I feel like the labeling of all bands who deviate a little farther on average from the average metal aesthetic and sound as "hipster" is fucking retarded.
