As happy as I am that Megadeth tapped my current favorite drummer, Dirk Verbeuren to tour with them, I will never forget what an influence Nick had on my drumming, Rust In Peace, Megadeth, and metal in general. He was an absolute beast live. It seemed like he played every song like it was his last. I'm glad I had the chance to see him play live on the Countdown and Youthanasia tours. There are drummers that hit harder, played faster, etc. but he played drums like a musical instrument. His impact on Megadeth solidified them as the "world's state of the art thrash metal" band as advertised at the time.

I am honestly surprised that more drummers don't have massive heart-attacks on stage.

I think Gar Samuelson was the best drummer they ever had (who is also dead), but Rust In Peace was easily one of their best albums.
